IMPACT

Hickman Mills

The IMPACT approach

A one-stop-shop approach to enable families to accomplish in one day what may otherwise take three or more months on their own.

Just under 500 students were classified as homeless in the Hickman Mills C-1 School District (HMC-1) during the 2017-2018 school year. Impact Hickman Mills was created with the goal of eliminating homelessness in the district, allowing students to focus on their academic studies and education.

Impact Hickman Mills is a collective impact project between HMC-1 and Life in Full Transformation (L.I.F.T.), Inc.

L.I.F.T., Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization located at 10306 Blue Ridge Blvd inside Consuming Fire Ministries and the backbone of the project.

The Impact model allows for families to receive various services through the collaboration of service providers. These providers offer targeted, wrap-around care.

Families of students referred through the Hickman Mills School District, McKinney Vento liaison will be able to meet with agencies regarding housing, IDs/birth certificates, employment, healthcare, mental health, childcare, emergency relief, and other services on a regular basis.

Services will also include community education to equip families with the tools to be sustainable and independent.
